National Heavy Equipment Operator School

About National Heavy Equipment Operators School

National Training, Inc.'s National Heavy Equipment Operators School is located in North Florida 20 miles south of Jacksonville, Florida in Green Cove Springs. The main administration offices are located in Orange Park. The School was established in 1978 as a private institution. Since its inception the School has successfully trained over 30,000 graduates. Unlike many other schools and community colleges, National has a narrow focus dedicated to superior training and the successful placement of each one of our graduates.

People come to the School for specific reasons, and that is to receive quality training to operate heavy equipment. However, many students want to get as much out of their Florida visit as possible. Some of Florida's greatest attractions are within reasonable distance from the training facilities in Green Cove Springs. Such as the City of St. Augustine (the oldest city in the United States), Silver Springs, Daytona Beach, Cape Canaveral, Disney World, Epcot, Universal Pictures, and Sea World.

The Administration Departments are located within 8,000 square feet of space at 188 College Drive, Orange Park, Florida. This building houses the school management, educational services, student services, curriculum development, job placement assistance department and shipping and receiving department.

Students attending any of their training programs will receive the benefit of training on our custom designed multimillion dollar modern training grounds. They believe their 350 acre training complex is one of the largest and best equipped in the United States. They utilize 7,000 square feet of classroom space and several other ancillary buildings for maintenance of equipment and storage.

Resident Training Equipment

National Training, Inc. provides and maintains bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, articulating front-end loaders, the very popular and versatile Bobcat® mini-excavator and skid steer loader, and diesel truck tractors. National utilizes many and various brands and sizes of heavy equipment machines. All of this equipment is owned, leased, or rented to insure that an adequate number of properly working machines are available for the student census. National cannot guarantee that any one specific machine will be available due to maintenance intervals and natural equipment attrition.

The School pays particular attention to equipment variety, not only to the name brands, but also in the power trains utilized in their training fleet.

Instructional Staff

The training instructors are made up of friendly individuals who have years of practical experience as equipment operators and professional tractor trailer drivers. All of their instructors attend training classes conducted by the State of Florida. Each instructor is required to be licensed by the State of Florida, Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

Career Services

The people who choose to become heavy equipment operators and small earth moving contractors should feel very gratified. They are not only in a field that is well paid with an excellent future, but they will also be able to help our country solve our energy, environmental and water problems.

Construction is the largest service industry in the United States. The opportunities in this field are excellent for the properly trained and the ambitious. There is no more important occupation in the United States than the heavy equipment operator. Without these people, we would have very limited roads, dams, bridges, housing, flood control, and very little strip mining, land clearing, conservation, landscaping, reclamation, land filling, logging and pipelines. Heavy equipment operators and small earth moving contractors also work with utility companies, such as telephone, electric, gas, and water. The need for the heavy equipment operator and small earth-moving contractor is almost endless.

Accreditation

National Training, Inc. is Nationally Accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC), Washington, D.C.

The DETC is recognized as a "Nationally Recognized Accrediting Agency" by the U.S. Department of Education.NTI is fully licensed by the State of Florida, Commission for Independent Education.

NTI is also licensed by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. They train eligible applicants under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). In addition, NTI is authorized to train eligible Vocational Rehabilitation Participants.

What this all means to you is: value and employer recognition. National Heavy Equipment Operators School offers a high quality, up-to-date, no nonsense program for heavy equipment operation and training with a very competitive tuition that is rarely met by any competitive institution.
