Fremont College

About Fremont College

Some online schools will have you read text and complete assignments like you would in a correspondence course. Fremont College believes that students need interaction with their peers and instructors, and has implemented its unique instructional methodology, Professional Action Learning Online, to make courses a lot more engaging and interesting.

Fremont students read text, listen to audio, and watch streaming video lectures. They deepen their learning through asking questions of professors and each other through message boards, and complete group projects that promote lively discussion and student contributions. Groups then have the opportunity to “teach back” to their class by recording videos and receiving feedback. Students maintain a reflective summary journal and archive their knowledge in learning gems. The entire process is designed to make the learning stick and prepare Fremont graduates to start their career immediately after completing their program.

Fremont College History

Their story began in 1879 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Platt College was founded as a private school to help students of that era find their way in a changing America. In 1986, a California campus was established. As their schools curriculum and courses evolved and their progressive approach to learning became more unique and fresh, they took the new name of Fremont College to represent their new identity.

With a heritage and a progressive learning methodology born of cutting-edge research from their Chairman at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, its easy to see how Fremont College offers students a quality educational experience. On one hand, a tradition of academic excellence and a commitment to developing their students full potential; on the other, a cutting-edge curriculum designed to meet the fast-paced demands of today's world.

In recent years, Fremont College has undertaken a major expansion plan, adding new degree programs and refining the curriculum and courses: offering associates degrees in Business Administration, Paralegal Studies and Sports and Rehabilitation Therapy along with diplomas in Massage Therapy. They also relocated to a brand new facility in Cerritos, California that offers their students an engaging learning atmosphere. At Fremont College, they will continue growing and evolving to meet the ever-changing demands of career-oriented students like you.
At the core of Fremont Colleges differentiation strategy is their teaching methodology, Professional Action Learning Embedded with Industry (PAL). Fremont Colleges Chairman and CEO Sabrina Kay, developed PAL during her studies at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School to create an engaging and fun learning experience for students who may have difficulty devoting full time to their studies, such as working adults returning for college.
