National Heavy Equipment Operator School

About National Heavy Equipment Operators School

National Training, Inc.'s National Heavy Equipment Operators School is located in North Florida 20 miles south of Jacksonville, Florida in Green Cove Springs. The main administration offices are located in Orange Park. The School was established in 1978 as a private institution. Since its inception the School has successfully trained over 30,000 graduates. Unlike many other schools and community colleges, National has a narrow focus dedicated to superior training and the successful placement of each one of our graduates.

People come to the School for specific reasons, and that is to receive quality training to operate heavy equipment. However, many students want to get as much out of their Florida visit as possible. Some of Florida's greatest attractions are within reasonable distance from the training facilities in Green Cove Springs. Such as the City of St. Augustine (the oldest city in the United States), Silver Springs, Daytona Beach, Cape Canaveral, Disney World, Epcot, Universal Pictures, and Sea World.

The Administration Departments are located within 8,000 square feet of space at 188 College Drive, Orange Park, Florida. This building houses the school management, educational services, student services, curriculum development, job placement assistance department and shipping and receiving department.

Students attending any of their training programs will receive the benefit of training on our custom designed multimillion dollar modern training grounds. They believe their 350 acre training complex is one of the largest and best equipped in the United States. They utilize 7,000 square feet of classroom space and several other ancillary buildings for maintenance of equipment and storage.

Resident Training Equipment

National Training, Inc. provides and maintains bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, articulating front-end loaders, the very popular and versatile Bobcat® mini-excavator and skid steer loader, and diesel truck tractors. National utilizes many and various brands and sizes of heavy equipment machines. All of this equipment is owned, leased, or rented to insure that an adequate number of properly working machines are available for the student census. National cannot guarantee that any one specific machine will be available due to maintenance intervals and natural equipment attrition.

The School pays particular attention to equipment variety, not only to the name brands, but also in the power trains utilized in their training fleet.

Instructional Staff

The training instructors are made up of friendly individuals who have years of practical experience as equipment operators and professional tractor trailer drivers. All of their instructors attend training classes conducted by the State of Florida. Each instructor is required to be licensed by the State of Florida, Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

Career Services

The people who choose to become heavy equipment operators and small earth moving contractors should feel very gratified. They are not only in a field that is well paid with an excellent future, but they will also be able to help our country solve our energy, environmental and water problems.

Construction is the largest service industry in the United States. The opportunities in this field are excellent for the properly trained and the ambitious. There is no more important occupation in the United States than the heavy equipment operator. Without these people, we would have very limited roads, dams, bridges, housing, flood control, and very little strip mining, land clearing, conservation, landscaping, reclamation, land filling, logging and pipelines. Heavy equipment operators and small earth moving contractors also work with utility companies, such as telephone, electric, gas, and water. The need for the heavy equipment operator and small earth-moving contractor is almost endless.

Their programs are designed to teach students the technical skills necessary for an entry-level position - with a prospective employer. Their programs are a mixture of hands–on training and lecture, conducted at their fully equipped facility in the Anaheim, California (Southern California).

As never before, people are concerned about Energy Efficiency and protecting the environment. Help the public save energy – and money in their homes and business by becoming an HVAC-Refrigeration Technician today! Did you know that HVAC-Refrigeration Technicians help protect the Ozone Layer? Brownson Technical School is an accredited vocational school that has been training men and women in Southern California for careers in HVAC and Refrigeration since 1984. Their curriculum is updated regularly, all of their instructors are very experienced in the HVAC-Refrigeration industry.

More Info

Did you know you could have a fun with a rewarding career as an HVAC, Refrigeration and DDC Technician?

As an HVAC and Refrigeration Professional you’ll be part of one of America’s highest demand professions. Indoor Comfort and Refrigeration are almost birthrights to most Americans. Since the days of the “Iceman” that brought blocks of ice to homes in the early 1900s homes, businesses, and industry have demanded the ability to cool down the things that needed cooling and warming up those things that needed to be warmed.

When “Refrigerated” Air Conditioning became available in the early 1900s, it transformed how movie theaters – and Hollywood. In an effort to be comfortable in our homes, our places of work, and wherever our travels should take us, we want to be comfortable. This requires very sophisticated heating and cooling and refrigeration equipment. While comfort is the main goal with HVAC, energy efficiency and environmental protection are very important.

When you study with Brownson Technical School, you’ll learn the skills to succeed as an HVAC and Refrigeration Technician, whether you work for someone else, or some day want to start your own business.

Brownson Technical School has been helping people achieve their career dreams for over 24 years (since 1984).

You’ll feel proud when your Brownson Technical School credentials are recognized by employers and you land a position you with a company you love. After over 24 years, their name stands as a great reference in the industry.

Brownson Technical School is located in Anaheim, California in a 20,000 square foot, freeway close training facility accessible to most of Southern California residents.

Southern California is a big place, Brownson Technical School is located in Anaheim, which is in the population center of Southern California.

Brownson Technical School is a privately owned school, not a public school, meaning it can react quickly to make changes as technology changes.

Public schools such as Community Colleges rarely offer very much in the way of Hands- on training and frequently take what seems like forever to complete. Many of their students tried the Community College route and found it wasn’t a good fit. For some reason there is a sky-high drop out rate in Community Colleges and yet, the drop out rate at Brownson Technical School is VERY low. There is virtually no attempt the place graduates at the Community College.

Brownson Technical School has a commitment to remain on the cutting edge of this industry. The latest energy saving technology available is brought into the school curriculum to keep Brownson Technical School’s graduates at top of every employer’s wish list.

Brownson Technical School’s HVAC-Refrigeration and DDC Technology Technician training program is accepted as meeting the requirements for “pre-apprenticeship” training for UA Local 250.

This means that a Brownson Technical School graduate is qualified to directly enter the Local 250 Apprenticeship training program as an Apprentice 1 ($18.16 per hour, plus benefits to start).

Because of a high referral rate from past students, Brownson Technical School doesn’t have to spend untold millions on television advertising, allowing students to save money on tuition yet receive unparalleled training.

The large corporate schools that blanket the airways must charge very high tuition prices because it is VERY EXPENSIVE to advertise on TV. Those costs must be passed on to the students that attend those schools.

Brownson Technical School is a family owned school, not owned by a large corporation where bottom line profits can often outweigh what is available for students to learn.

Many schools are owned by very large publicly traded corporations. If the school’s earnings fall below the magic numbers, these schools go crazy cost cutting. Brownson Technical School is a closely held company that doesn’t have to worry so much about the ups and downs of the economy.

Brownson Technical School hires talented, Caring instructors that really want you to learn!
You’ll enter your new profession with confidence after training under the BTS experienced instructors. BTS instructors bring their experience to the classroom and the lab. They know what it takes to become leaders in the field – because that’s exactly what they are. You’ll graduate with relevant, practical training that will help you move smoothly into your new career.

Brownson Technical School’s placement assistance works. The vast majority of graduates find training related jobs through Brownson Technical School’s placement office.

Since the BTS has been around over 24 years, employers are accustomed to calling the school, looking for graduates. They are proud of the demand from quality employers for their graduates.

Hands-on training is an important part of each one of Brownson Technical School’s programs. Students work on actual equipment simulating real situations they will encounter in the field.
Employers will be impressed with how quickly and easily you move from schooling into your new profession after you gain hands-on training directly relevant to your career goals. The personal instruction you receive from BTS will ensure you pick up new concepts quickly and have a solid understanding of every new skill and technique.

In 2007, the name was changed to Clemens College to honor Samuel Clemens, one of Connecticut’s best loved literary figures, better know by his pen-name, Mark Twain.

More than a school

Clemens College offers a selection of exercise machines, basketball courts, and sports equipment for basketball, volleyball, and soccer. During the summer and fall, nearby Sunrise Park and state parks are ideal for swimming, boating, bicycling, hiking, and camping. Winter sports nearby include skating, hockey, sledding, and skiing, both cross country and downhill.

Six Flags New England is a quarter mile up the road. Students visit often and some work at the park.

Clemens College is unique in that students live and interact with people from a wide variety of nations, cultures, and backgrounds. Students live either on campus or in off-campus apartments.
Student life on campus is directly related to the energy and creativity of the student body. High-speed Internet access is provided in the library and at most locations on the College grounds.

Industry Information

The Wall Street Journal reports that recent college graduates who work in hotel-property management earn the following average annually starting salaries, according to a 2004 report from Wage Watch Inc., a human resources survey firm in Scottsdale, Arizona:

Assistant director of food and beverage: $45,000
Guest-service manager: $34,485
Assistant banquet manager: $32,300
Entry-level sales manager: $34,500
Assistant director of human resources: $40,000

2007 Restaurant Industry Facts according to the National Restaurant Association:

Sales: $537 billion

Employees: 12.8 million- the restaurant industry is the largest employer outside of government

The number of foodservice managers is projected to increase 11 percent from 2007 to 2017

Four out of five consumers agree that going out to a restaurant is a better way to use their leisure time than cooking and cleaning up.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook:

The employment of lodging managers is expected to grow about as fast as the average for all occupations through 2014.

Job opportunities are expected to be best for persons with college degrees in hotel or hospitality management.

Additional demand for managers is expected in suite hotels, because some guests-especially business customers- are willing to pay higher prices for rooms with kitchens and suites that provide the space needed to conduct small meetings.

Large full-service hotels- offering restaurants, fitness centers, large meeting rooms, and play areas for children, among other amenities- will continue to provide many trainee and managerial opportunities.

The American Institute of Alternative Medicine | AIAM

About The American Institute of Alternative Medicine (AIAM)

The American Institute of Alternative Medicine (AIAM), formerly Massage Away, Inc. School of Therapy, was founded in September 1994. The school was an outgrowth of Massage Away, Inc., central Ohio’s largest therapeutic clinic that started in 1990. The therapeutic massage clinic’s consistent growth, overwhelming customer demands for their services, and the inability to find quality massage therapists led to the creation of Massage Away, Inc. School of Therapy.

The Licensed Massage Therapy Program opened with 14 students, and has since graduated over 700 students, with approximately 200 students currently enrolled in the basic program. The Tui Na Program opened in 2002 with 2 students and has graduated 4 students. There are 4 Tui Na students currently enrolled. The Professional Master's Level Acupuncture Program opened in 2002 with 11 students and has graduated its first class of seven students. There are 22 students currently enrolled.

In December 1997, American Institute of Alternative Medicine purchased and moved into their new building in North Columbus and 12,000 square feet were added in 2000. Their facility includes six lecture/labs, a spa training room, a student clinic with 12 treatment rooms, a retail area selling student books, supplies and therapeutic products, a library, kitchen, student and instructor lounges and administrative offices. They have a committed staff of 45.

In 2000, the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) accredited the school. AIAM was also approved for financial aid with the U. S. Department of Education and for the training of veterans, eligible dependents, reservists and the Ohio National Guard.

The new millennium brought in a new interest and direction for the school. In February 2001, owners Helen Yee and Diane Sater, along with instructor Lou Peters, participated in an extensive study trip to China where they studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and Tui Na at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This educational experience confirmed the need to expand the program offerings to include both eastern and western philosophies.

In April 200l, David Wang was hired to develop the acupuncture program curriculum. His 20 years of experience in TCM, along with his extensive experience teaching and practicing western and Chinese medicine in China provided the acupuncture program's sound foundation. A Tui Na program was developed in 2001 providing students the option of learning an eastern form of bodywork. Both programs opened to students in 2002.

The school made history in July 2001, when AIAM was honored with a visit by Dr. Haizhou Xie, renowned Traditional Chinese Medical doctor. In China, Dr. Xie is hailed as a National Living Treasure. Dr. Wang is a protégé of Dr. Xie. Dr. Xie was bestowed the Honorary Presidency of the school at a reception attended by physicians, practicing acupuncturists and students. A China tour and China study tour is led by AIAM each year.

American Institute of Alternative Medicine’s name was officially changed to the American Institute of Alternative Medicine (AIAM) in 2002. AIAM better reflects their mission. In addition, a Board of Directors was elected.

In August 2007, AIAM's Professional Master's Level Acupuncture Program was recognized with five years of accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). ACAOM is the US Department of Education recognized accrediting agency for the approval of programs preparing acupuncture and Oriental medicine practitioners.
