Then called the Rasmussen Practical School of Business, Rasmussen College was founded on September 1, 1900 in St. Paul, Minnesota by Walter Rasmussen.

Today, Rasmussen College is a provider of online educational experiences, delivering regionally accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Associate’s degree programs through its network of campuses and partnerships with leading universities.

With more than 12,000 students, Rasmussen College is able to offer its students a broad range of quality programs both online programs and on-campus; focused on the areas with the greatest occupation opportunities.

Rasmussen College currently has campuses in Minnesota, Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Online.

Accreditation

Rasmussen College has been awarded Regional Accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).

CAHIIM Accreditation

The Health Information Technician program offered at the Brooklyn Park, Eagan, Eden Prairie, Lake Elmo, Mankato, and St. Cloud locations in Minnesota and the Rockford location in Illinois is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).

The Health Information Technician Associate’s degree offered at the Green Bay campus is in Candidacy Status for accreditation by the Commission on Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).

Students at these campuses will be kept informed of the program’s accreditation status. Graduates may not sit for the AHIMA credentialing examination until accreditation has been granted to the campus.

The Rasmussen College Practical Nursing Associate’s degree in Minnesota is approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing

Upon satisfactory completion of the Practical Nursing Program requirements, students are eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for practical nurses. Upon passing the NCLEX-PN Exam, the PN candidate is eligible for licensure, provided the candidate has satisfied all Minnesota Board of Nursing requirements.

The Rasmussen College Professional Nursing Associate’s degree in Florida is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing

Upon satisfactory completion of the Professional Nursing Program requirements, students are eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses.

Upon passing the NCLEX-RN Exam, the RN candidate is eligible for licensure, provided the candidate has satisfied all Florida Board of Nursing requirements.
